When a cat is angry, the sound it makes is usually quite low. If a cat is just a little angry, it will usually make a low-frequency or unstable purring sound. If a cat is particularly angry and is preparing to attack, it will usually hiss directly at the other party.



Besides vocalizations, cats may also exhibit other behaviors such as ruffled fur, arched back, and flattened ears. If you notice your cat's ears stretching to the sides, you should comfort it immediately and avoid doing anything that might upset it, to prevent accidental injury.
