An 8-month-old kitten is quite old and not easy to raise, because kittens usually recognize their owners when they are three or four months old, and a seven or eight-month-old kitten may have already recognized its owner, so changing owners may be difficult for it to accept.
Cats typically reach sexual maturity between 6 and 8 months of age. When raising a cat that is seven or eight months old, it is very likely that it will go into heat. After going into heat, the cat will urinate everywhere and may even howl incessantly.
