Solutions for fleas on American Shorthair cats:
1. Owners should deworm their cats promptly by using an appropriate amount of skin spray containing ingredients such as fipronil to quickly kill fleas.
2. Fleas are afraid of ultraviolet rays and high temperatures. Letting your cat sunbathe more often can effectively kill fleas on your cat. 
3. Put a flea collar on your cat. The active ingredients released by the collar can kill fleas.
4. Use a fine-toothed comb to groom your cat's fur. The fleas will get stuck in the comb. Then kill the fleas with detergent.
5. Use a medicated or disinfectant shampoo to bathe your cat, starting from the head and working your way up to the tail, to thoroughly remove fleas from the fur.
